Season 2. BOLD beauty. Spring 2017

“She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. She was beautiful, for the way she thought. She was beautiful for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful for her ability to make other people smile, even if she was sad. No, she wasn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful, deep down in her soul.” –F Scott Fitzgerald

Season 2. BOLD beauty. Spring 2017.

Season 2. At the beginning of this season, I was asked, “What if no one shows up?” I responded that I wasn’t worried about numbers. I was worried about hearts. The right people would come. No matter what, our season would be undeniable, beautiful, and bold. From auditions, to the first rehearsal, a season of performance opportunities, and finally our end of season concert, hearts showed up and the story of Three Hearts Dance continued to unfold in a BEAUTIFUL and BOLD way.

Auditions. Looking back, this was truly the beginning of something beautiful. I am not sure I even fully understand how important the women that showed up WOULD BE for the story and building of THD. They took a step into the unknown and the beginning of BOLD beauty started. After leaving that day, I honestly felt high. This was everything I prayed it would be. Big. Real. Tangible. I was going to conquer season 2 with incredible women that were called to Three Hearts Dance.

First Rehearsal. We started our season by introducing ourselves and one goal we had for this season. Then, we dived straight into choreography for our first film. That day. Some fierce women began to emerge. They had voices that spoke audibly and physically. They were on fire to conquer life and everything that BOLD beauty was going to be. Our rehearsals continued in this same fashion. Sweat. Tears. Purpose. These girls. On a mission to tell raw stories through dance.

Golden Heart Launch Party. Evening with Friends. Photoshoots.Videoshoots. Community Sale. FloArts Dance Concert. Jacksonville Dance Film Festival. I am quite sure you all would stop reading if I listed all the special moments that made these events so unique. I prayed for builders and I am still blown away by the forces He brought into the THD world. Memories were made. Stories were told. Season 2 was a whirlwind of connection and movement that can’t just be faked or recreated.

BOLD beauty Showcase. Diverse people coming together to embrace dance and love. Three Hearts Dance was joined by Ballet Arts Dance Centre, Florida School of the Arts, Unforced Rhythms Dance Company, and special guests to present a night of live and film presentations. This wasn’t your typical dance concert. Real life was discussed. Real hearts were changed.

“Your show was wonderful and it was what I needed in my life at this moment. During your show a light clicked and I feel better about my crazy broken messy life…. going to your show made me feel like I’m not the only one. And it was uplifting and wonderful.” - Erica T.

Looking back. From my pajamas. On my couch. I am honored and humbled to have been given this opportunity to lead real people to unleash freedom to live boldly with optimism, artistry, and love. I am so proud of the dancers who ALL successfully achieved the goals they set out to tackle at the beginning of the season. Ursala passed her chemistry class. Crystal is now fully vegan. Krishelle is stepping up as a bold woman and artist. Jamie told her story through film. Amber stands strong with her purple hair & powerful voice. Rochelle completed her AA and continues to bring freedom to every soul she encounters. Logan completed her first year at Jacksonville University and has become the Head Coach of the Spirit Team at Jacksonville Country Day School. Abby was accepted to USF and will continue her pursuit of dance. Erica is about to wrap up her first season with 2 studio locations and her 7th season total of Reach Destiny Arts. Lisa moved up north and is dancing, teaching, and living life with the man of her dreams. This season was more than just dance. It was Real women. Real stories. Real faith. That is BOLD beauty.

We are Three Hearts Dance. And this is a Three Hearts Dance Story.
